I write lots of stories about lots of things for all age groups, but I love writing for children the best!

When I was little, my favourite book was The Penguin that Hated the Cold, and being something of a book hoarder, I still have it. It’s ooooolllld…nearly as old as me.

​

Pablo the Penguin was the first literary character to whom I related. You see, I was born and raised in eastern Canada, where winter stretches from November to April. And I didn't like – and still dislike – being cold.

​

I now live in Northwest England, with my husband and tween twin daughters and our Saluki, Archie-Angus.

​

I read almost anything I can get my hands on. I adore the classics; however, most of my reading these days is middle-grade stories, and my daughters have introduced me to so many great stories.

​

Like many authors and superheroes, I have an alter-ego. My alter-ego is a scientist who works in life sciences software development.
